With less than two months until the new year, it’s time to start thinking about how you plan to achieve more for your business and those who work with you. In this four-part blog series, we’ll be detailing the ways Futures for Business can support you to take your business and people to the next level in 2020.

Apprenticeships have changed. You can now hire apprentices for a variety of roles, both manual and office-based. Apprenticeships allow you to employ staff who work towards a nationally recognised qualification while putting their new skills and knowledge into practice immediately. Qualifications range from Level 3 (equivalent to A-levels) to level 6 (Undergraduate degree), and as such can be a viable career option for people at all stages of their career and of all ages. If you are thinking of hiring an apprentice, it is likely that you have questions about how the process works and how your business could be affected if things don’t go to plan. We understand these concerns and offer a full, intensive support service to reduce the stress and anxiety that may be holding you back from experiencing all the benefits that can come with hiring an apprentice.

Through Futures Employment Solutions, we are able to offer full support for you and the individuals working with your company. In short, we shoulder the legal responsibilities and risk that comes with hiring an apprentice, while you maintain full control of who you employ and how their role fits into your day-to-day operations.

Working with Futures to hire apprentices, you have access to a range of benefits and there are lots of ways we support both you and your apprentice(s), including:

  • Our advisory services, which can help you to identify the needs of your business
  • Line management responsibilities – such as creating employment contracts, arranging DBS checks and statutory health and safety training on your behalf
  • Recruitment support – helping you to create job descriptions, mentoring you during the interview and selection process and ensuring you are confident in your final hiring decision
  • Relationship management, which means we are on-hand throughout the apprenticeship to offer help, support, advice and guidance as well as arranging progress reviews and mentoring for both business owners and apprentices.
