Careers Professionals have an immediate and lasting impact on the lives of the people they work with. They motivate and equip others to identify their short-term and long-term career aspirations. This apprenticeship will allow you to develop your clients understanding of the requirements and rewards of opportunities within the education system and the labour market.

Entry Requirements for English and maths: Apprentices are required to meet the initial entry points for English and maths as follows:

  • The minimum English and maths should be level 2 or GCSE’s grade A-C
  • All applicants will be supported to attain these entry levels prior to joining the course, or whilst on the course, where possible.

Who can do the qualification:
You will need to be:

  • 16 or over by the end of the summer holidays
  • Living in England
  • Not in full-time education

Overview:
A trained career development professional helps people to assess their own strengths and to make meaningful education, career and employment choices. They will empower people to develop their own career management skills using coaching, counselling and information, advice and guidance techniques.

This apprenticeship allows you to develop your understanding of opportunities in education and the labour market and provide effective career guidance. You will also discover methods of designing and planning career-related learning, and reflect on your own practice to identify development needs.

Assessment:
At the end of your programme you will complete an end-point assessment (duration - 6 months) with an independent assessment organisation, agreed by your employer.

Progression/Career Path:

  • The opportunity to join the Career Development Institute (CDI) UK Register of Career Development Professionals.
  • The opportunity to enrol on the Careers Lead Diploma
