John Yarham

Chief Executive

I have over 20 years’ experience in the employment and skills sector, and am as passionate about it today as I was at the beginning of my career. I’m committed to the sector, spurred on by the difference we make. Every day I’m driven by the knowledge that the work we do at Futures facilitates social mobility, we improve lives. I’m incredibly proud of our ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating but more so for what this means for the people we support. It’s a demonstration of the quality of the advice and support they can expect from us. I’m a trustee of several charities and the Vice-Chair of Careers England. I’m also a keen cyclist and have two daughters.

Sandra Cowley

With over 38 years of working in the education and business sector, I'm committed to ensuring individuals have access to opportunities to learn skills which make a positive impact on their lives. My role is instrumental in securing business growth for the benefit of the people we support. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, walking and undertaking property renovations.

Daphne Saxelby

Head of Performance & Innovation

I'm driven to support and encourage people to maximise their potential. I wanted to manage a hotel or restaurant when I left school, quickly changed my mind when those responsibilities didn’t fit around my teenage social life, moved into a 25 year career in finance where my passion to embed effective learning to improve performance developed. This ultimately led me into the further education sector. I am passionate about high quality learning at all ages and stages of working life.

Abi Rae

Head of Business Engagement and Partnerships

I have been in the skills sector for over 12 years and love talking to businesses about learning strategies that deliver business growth, increased productivity and employee engagement. During my career I have worked in event management, IT, bid-writing and marketing in local businesses, large and small and am always learning from those around me. When not at work I am annoyingly enthusiastic about loud music, radio dramas, French bric a brac markets and haberdashery!
