Impact are recruiting an Apprentice Teaching Assistant for ACET Aughton Junior Academy based at Turnshaw Avenue, Aughton, Sheffield
As an Apprentice Teaching Assistant, you will also be preparing the classroom for lessons and tidying away after them and helping teachers prepare materials for classes.
During classes, you will be working with groups of children, listening to them read, or reading to them, supervising group activities and helping those who need additional support.
You will also be supporting and caring for children during breaks and lunchtime, therefore an appropriate knowledge of First Aid is required, though training can be provided.
Confidentiality and Health and safety are important policies to follow throughout your duties, so an understanding of what they entail is necessary
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- GCSE level, A (9) -C (4) grades in maths & English (or equivalent)
- Good communication skills
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
- Good ICT skills
- Passionate about working with children and supporting learning
- Ambition to work within a school setting and work towards the L2 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification
