Job Description
As a Trainee Careers Advisor you will be learning on the job to work with our experienced IAG advisors to support the delivery of impartial careers information, advice and guidance to adults within the company’s contract delivery areas.
To support a team to deliver individual targets relating to both volumes and quality in line with contract compliance, including tracking and monitoring the progress of customers/clients into learning and employment.
Supporting group information sessions to adults which:
- Complement the DWP’s employability and skills agenda
- Adds value to educational courses within colleges and training providers
- Support the ambition of employers to develop and upskill their workforce
To engage in and promote outreach activities to extend the service to customers who may not ordinarily engage with the National Careers Service through our partners
To maintain accurate records using the Touchpoint data base to support caseload management of customers, focusing on progression of customers into Learning and Employment
Gathering customer feedback through a variety of channels
To actively contribute ideas to the company leading to new delivery opportunities.
Person Specification
A willingness to work towards NVQ in Careers Information Advice and Guidance
IT Skills – Understanding of Microsoft Office packages and basic IT skills
Ability to use Social Media to engage with the wider public
Good communication skills with a wide range of people
Able to prioritise workload, manage time and work in a target driven environment, whilst maintaining quality standards
Self-motivated, proactive and enthusiastic with a can do attitude
A passion to deliver excellent customer service, follow up and communicating with a caseload of clients.
A willingness to embrace a varied range of methods to deliver services; e.g. text, email, telephone, social media.
Training and Development provided
The successful candidates will receive training in Employability Skills, working with technology to speak with customers, working safely, time management, organisation skills and handling confidential data.
They will also receove on the job coaching and mentoring, a monthly one2one with line manager and continued support to learn on the job to do the role.
