Other details Well For Work is a new fully funded ESF project run by Futures and its partners to support unemployed people into sustainable employment. For those who aren’t ready to jump straight into work, individual support will be offered to develop confidence, skills and the ability to enter employment. These vacancies are only open to applicants who are currently unemployed.

    What does a Senior Support Worker do?

    Thera East Midlands is looking for a Senior Support Worker. The role of a Senior Support Worker is to ensure the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives.

    Supporting someone with a learning disability isn’t just personal care; it’s so much more. A Senior Support Worker will do everything from taking the people supported to swimming to helping administer the right medication. They will also mentor Support Workers and assist with the overall health and safety.

    What experience do I need?

    Some previous experience in supported living is useful but it isn’t a necessity. If you are caring, kind and want to work in a job that is genuinely rewarding, this is for you.

    You’ll need to have great communication skills and be comfortable making decisions. A basic level of English and Math is required and it is preferable that you have mentored others previously.
