A Digital and Creative Apprenticeship can help you to achieve more

22nd January, 2019 Read time: Two minutes

The demand for digital presence is growing – since 2006, daily internet use has increased by more than 50% throughout the UK.

Every business now needs an online presence and the ability to successfully manage their online brand and reputation. This means that the quality of digital and creative skills of those employed by a company can be one of the leading factors in that business’ success – leading to a greater increase in demand for employees with those skills.

This is great news for anyone looking to move into this sector – whether you’re at the beginning of your career, or more experienced and looking for a change of pace.

Why an apprenticeship?

If you’re new to digital and creative skills, one of the most effective ways to get a foot in the door is through an apprenticeship. You will be learning new skills and working in an environment that enables you to put that knowledge to use in real and practical ways from the day you begin your training.

An apprenticeship is beneficial for both you as an apprentice and the company you work for. By learning on the job, you are able to develop your skills in real time, with more effective results, while your employer can be secure in the knowledge that your skills will be up-to-date and reflect current best practice in the industry.

Apprenticeships will really make you stand out if you want to apply for other creative and digital jobs in the future.

What does it cover?

Futures for Business offer two Digital and Creative Apprenticeship pathways: Digital Marketer and Creative Content Assistant/Junior Content Producer. Both are Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship Standards, including Functional Skills Maths and English and are delivered over 15-18 months, and cover a range of topics.

Both courses incorporate; written communication, creating, implementing and analysing marketing campaigns, following and understanding the importance of the latest digital developments and trends.

A more detailed breakdown of the content for each pathway can be found here.

Where could it take you?

A Digital and Creative Apprenticeship can give you the skills and experience needed to achieve a promotion, take on additional responsibilities or progress to a wide range of new opportunities including;

  • Digital Marketer
  • Marketing Co-ordinator
  • Business Administrator
  • Social media Co-ordinator
  • Web or Data Analyst
  • Marketing Analyst
  • Copywriter
  • Media Co-ordinator
  • Marketing Manager

From here, you also have the opportunity to go on to study further creative and digital qualifications, if it is something that interests you.

Are you looking to get into a new sector or job role? If learning new skills while putting your knowledge to work immediately (and getting paid to do so) sounds like the right opportunity for you, get in touch.
