European Computer Driving Licence Information Day

About the Information Day

The ECDL is known as the benchmark in digital and IT user skills and therefore is seen as a highly desirable qualification, both recognised and respected by employers as well as further education establishments. The European Computer Driving Licence is offered at two levels, Level 1 and Level 2 these intermediate qualification equivalent to a GCSE in IT.

Upon successful completion, all learners will gain Level 2 qualification certificated through the British Computer Society. This is an ideal opportunity for any person who wishes to upskill themselves through a flexible approach to learning which blends both classroom and home based activities.

This information day will consist of:

  • A short presentation explaining the course in more detail.
  • A chance to view our centre and meet the tutors.
  • An assessment of your level of math, English and IT to ensure you progress onto the right level course for you.

About our Courses

You will be expected to complete a pre-employment training which will lead to the following qualification:

  • BCS Level 1/2 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Extra)

The course will consist of:

  • 8 weeks training based on 2 days a week

Who Can Attend

You can attend this course if you are:

  • Aged 19 years old or over (must have turned 19 by 31st August 2019)
  • A UK or European Economic Area (EEA) member state citizen and have lived in the UK or EEA Member state for at least the last three years or hold other eligible residency status*
  • Unemployed, should be actively seeking employment and claiming an unemployment benefit of either: Universal Credit, Job Seekers Allowance or Employment Support Allowance (WRAG) **
  • OR Must be earning under £16,009.50 annual gross salary and be able to commit to the course.
