Apprenticeships are suitable for a range of subjects, industries and careers, meaning your staff can gain new skills and qualifications while continuing in their current role.

As the New Year gets ever closer, we’re helping local businesses to lay solid foundations ready to smash their goals in 2020. This week, we’re focusing on existing staff, and what you can do as an employer to ensure their skills are up-to-date and relevant.

Keeping your staff’s skills and knowledge up to date brings two main benefits:

  • It means you can feel secure in the knowledge that your people are equipped to do the best work possible. Your business will be maintaining high quality, reputable standards which keep customers happy.
  • Investing in your people leads to a happier, more fulfilled workforce, reducing turnover and increasing staff wellbeing.

Apprenticeships offer the opportunity for your staff to learn new skills and earn qualifications, while putting the new knowledge and skills back into the business straight away. Apprenticeships now cover a range of subjects and education levels. We offer apprenticeships from Level 2, equivalent to 5 GCSE’s, to Level 6, at degree level - meaning they’re suitable for people in a wide range of disciplines and stages.

Apprenticeships usually take 1-2 years to complete and your staff will continue to work for you throughout, spending 20% of their time in off-the-job training.
