Discovery Month is an annual commitment Futures have made to showcasing the real and significant difference businesses can make to young people’s life chances, and it’s something every business – whatever your size or sector – can do.
Creating partnerships between schools and businesses is something that we are committed to, however we understand not all businesses can make an ongoing commitment to their community in this way. This is why we formed Discovery Month, as a way for businesses to pledge their support in a short term capacity, with long term impact.
Employers tell us they want to do more, but struggle with where to start, and are unsure about how to make their encounters with young people meaningful. We’re working to change this..
Engaging with young people provides businesses with the chance to close skills gaps, but to truly solve these challenges, work must start in schools.
Just one hour of your time during our Discovery Month could change a young person’s life. Share your career journey, provide expert tips for CVs and interviews, or provide insight into your industry – however you help, your presence is invaluable and will improve a young person’s future employability chances.
